TBR Pile Challenge 2019 – Try, Try Again

I’m terrible at this. Well, this and a lot of other things. Last year I made it through four of my twelve/fourteen TBR Pile Challenge picks and that may have been a record for me. That makes picking books this year pretty easy though. I’m just migrating previous picks to this year. And maybe this is the year I read six.

  1. Bucking the Sun by Ivan Doig
  2. The Annotated Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett and edited by Gretchen Holbrook Gerzina
  3. Luka and the Fire of Life by Salman Rushdie
  4. The Tao of Writing by Ralph L. Wahlstrom
  5. All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
  6. Passionate Minds by David Bodanis
  7. The Swerve by Stephen Greenblatt
  8. Trigger Warning by Neil Gaiman
  9. Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott
  10. Into The Forest, by Jean Hegland
  11. Wolf in White Van by John Darnielle
  12. A Riddle in Ruby by Kent Davis
  1. The Heartsong of Charging Elk by James Welch {alternate}
  1. Capital by Thomas Piketty {alternate}

Bonus – Books I Don’t Want to Remain Unread for the 2020 TBR Pile Challenge

Educated by Tara Westover
Meddling KIds by Edgar Cantero
The Order of Time by Carlo Rovelli
Do Not Become Alarmed by Maile Meloy

I actually feel kind of hopeful–I mean, I’m already a chapter into a textbook for a class that doesn’t start for two more weeks. If I can do that, I can read these books too, right? I think I need to go through and count up all the books I have read because I sign up for these challenges. There’s something to be said for that. A sort of alternative win.
